Directions as follows -
Flux Bar, Marcelo T. de Alvear 980, (subsuelo), Centro.

Nearest Subte is Line C - General San Martin. From there walk two blocks along Av. Santa Fe, turn left when you get to Carlos Pellegrini, walk one block, turn left and Flux is a few metres down on the R.H. side.
On arrival look for me - Ian. I vaguely resemble a bald, overweight version of the actor Anthony Hopkins.
Some light snacks will be provided by Jamie and Ilia at Flux.

A mixed Sunday night out

Last Sunday night my bf and I decided to look in at Amerika (Gascón 1040), a dance club neither of us had visited previously. The Amerika website doesn't mention opening time for Sunday but since it is advertised as a tea dance we assumed it would be relatively early. On arrival at 11:00 p.m. we found the doors closed and we were informed that they would open at 12:30 a.m.

We then went round the corner and over the road to Sitges (Cordoba 4119) and found it just starting to fill up for the evenings "Canto Bar". Customers go up on stage and sing(?) their favourite song reading the words from a karaoke screen, and the whole affair is hosted by a drag. This was quite enjoyable actually with some decent voices and good fun. At 1:00 a.m. this is followed by a show but we decided to miss that and go back to Amerika. I wish we had stayed.

I suppose we were too early. There were maybe a couple of hundred people in there, the music was nothing, and as my bf said "No hay onda" (no vibes). We stayed 20 minutes and left. That will probably be my last visit to Amerika unless someone can convince me otherwise. Sunday night at Alsina (formerly Palacio) at Alsina 940 is still the best by a long way.

A Full Sauna (literally)!

Some guys remarked to me recently how popular this sauna at Viamonte 1770 was on Sunday evenings. I hadn't realised how popular until last Sunday when I arrived there at 7:15 pm only to find the entrance lobby nearly full of people waiting to enter. Guys were being allowed to enter at the rate of one about every 4 minutes. I waited for about 15 minutes then the guy at the head of a queue was told there was going to be a further wait of 20 minutes. In the meantime a lot more people had arrived so the lobby was now full. At this point I bailed out (I hate waiting). The moral to the story, obviously, is to get there early.

Instead I went to Olimpo sauna at Viamonte 723 which (and I should have known better) was a total waste of time. This place is only worth patronising if you want a choice of 3 or 4 "masseurs" who provide extra relaxation service.

Toms re-opened!

One piece of good news that I heard last night in Flux was that Toms (Viamonte 638) reopened a couple of nights ago. The mind boggles as what could be going on there as all the horny men flock back to catch up on what they have been missing (or not).
