Restaurants in Buenos Aires

Listed below are restaurants recommended by myself or others as having excellent food, good service and reasonable prices. They are not necessarily gay-owned. Since my principal meal of the day is at around 1 pm then the first three on the list are my personal recommendations for lunch.

If any of my readers have a recommendation for their favourite restaurant, particularly for evening, please email me at

El Evento, Viamonte 1380, Tribunales. Subte: Tribunales, Line D.
Telf: 4372-1037.
Good food, attentive, efficient service. Main dish about $7. Close to the Palacio de Justicia and therefore very popular with lawyers Mon.- Fri.

Don Pepo, Virrey del Pino 2732, Belgrano. Subte: José Hernández, Line D.
Telf: 4788.9010.
Menu Ejecutivo at $15 is excellent value, with aperitif, starter, salad bar, choice of about 12 main dishes, dessert, and drink. This restaurant is also very popular for dinner and is always full.

Red Leaf, Av. Santa Fe 2939, Barrio Norte. Subte: Agüero, Line D.
